STRATEGY 2025
STRATEGY 2025+
SHAPING THE FUTURE OF MOBILITY
THROUGH SIMULATION, AI AND HPC
WE CONNECT SINCE 2008 AND IN THE FUTURE.
In mid-2023, the Automotive Solution Center for Simulation
(ASCS) launched a major strategic transformation in
response to the disruptive and fast-paced changes in the
automotive and broader mobility sectors. This new direction
was collaboratively developed with board members, team
members, association members, and mentors within the
ASCS ecosystem. It marks a pivotal evolution in the
association’s mission, expanding its focus from the
traditional automotive domain to encompass the full scope
of the mobility sector.
Under the guiding vision “Simulation is THE key to
mobility. Simulation gives mobility a future,” ASCS aims
to position simulation not just as a supporting tool, but as a
central enabler for sustainable, safe, and innovative mobility
solutions. This expanded vision reflects the growing
complexity of technological change, regulatory demands,
and interdisciplinary collaboration in the era of connected,
automated, and decarbonized transport systems.
At the heart of the ASCS Strategy 2025+ is a visual and
conceptual framework: the Strategy Hexagon. Each side of
the hexagon represents a core area of strategic relevance Purpose, Ecosystem, Value Proposition, Competence,
Structure, and Culture - while the surrounding circle
symbolizes ASCS’s continuous interaction with the outside
world: member needs, technological trends, research
priorities, policy shifts, other associations, and market
development.
The strategy also defines four interconnected levels of
impact:
External - Business Development: Strengthening
partnerships, new markets, and member engagement across the entire mobility value chain.
Internal - Organizational Development: Adapting
internal processes, governance, and competencies
for a more dynamic ecosystem.
Shaping - Performance Development: Enabling
members and project partners to deliver measurable
progress through shared innovation platforms, data
ecosystems, and simulation-based research.
Providing Orientation - Identity Development:
Anchoring ASCS’s evolving role and purpose through
clear positioning, shared values, and identity
alignment within the ecosystem.
In addition to the hexagon, 11 strategic markings have
been defined, which together formulate the core strategy
of ASCS. These markings help to anchor the strategy in
practice and can be continuously evaluated and updated by
the ASCS strategy team to remain adaptable and relevant.
Each marking reflects a key element of the association's
identity and orientation.
MARKING EXAMPLE – ASCS MISSION
For everyone involved in mobility, we - together with our
members and supporters - offer THE platform in
Europe for exchange, knowledge, international
collaboration, research / teaching / education in the field
of simulation and ensure that everyone knows it. This
way, simulation can make a decisive contribution to the
sustainable mobility of the future - and to the future of
Looking ahead, ASCS will continue to build on its strategic
foundation by scaling up cross-sector collaboration,
reinforcing its simulation knowledge hub, and making its
value visible to all those shaping the future of mobility.
Strategy 2025+ is not a static document, but a dynamic
compass for a community ready to lead.
