CREATING TRUST IN A
SIMULATION DATA ECOSYSTEM
As simulations increasingly move toward data-driven,
collaborative, and cross-organizational workflows along
broad and deep simulation supply chains, traditional
identity models are no longer sufficient. In such complex
ecosystems - where multiple stakeholders, diverse data
sources, advanced services, and tools interact seamlessly
across institutional and national boundaries - there is a
growing need for a decentralized, trustworthy, and
flexible identity infrastructure. Such an infrastructure
must ensure secure access, comprehensive traceability,
and data sovereignty while meeting the stringent requirements of the automotive and mobility sectors. It should
support the entire lifecycle from development and certification to operation, enabling compliance with industry
standards and fostering trust among all participants in the
ecosystem.
ADDRESSING THE IDENTITY CHALLENGE:
THE CREATION OF DEMIM AND ITS EVOLUTION INTO SIMPULSE-ID
To address these emerging challenges, ASCS initiated the
development of DEMIM (Decentraliced Digital Member
Indentity Management) during 2023 and 2024 as a beta
version, a decentralized identity management solution
tailored specifically for the needs of its member community.
DEMIM was designed to provide a robust, scalable, and
interoperable identity infrastructure that ensures secure and
seamless collaboration across diverse organizations involved
in automotive and mobility simulation workflows.
DEMIM’s core capabilities include secure authentication,
fine-grained access control, and verifiable traceability of
identity and data usage - key features that empower members to maintain full sovereignty over their digital identities
and simulation assets.
By implementing decentralized identity principles, DEMIM
eliminates the risks and bottlenecks associated with centralized identity providers, enhancing resilience and trustworthiness in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
Following successful testing and feedback during its beta
phase, and recognizing the growing demand for wider adoption and standardization, ASCS has now transitioned DEMIM
into the SIMPULSE-ID platform as a serial version. This evolution reflects a strategic step toward broader ecosystem
integration, enabling compatibility with existing standards
and industry frameworks, while scaling identity services to
support an expanding network of users and use cases.
KEY FEATURES OF SIMPULSE-ID PLATFORM
INCLUDE:
CHAIN OF TRUST anchored by ASCS
association, ensuring a trusted root for all
identities and credentials
MULTI-LEVEL ONBOARDING processes to
verify member authenticity thoroughly
DIGITALLY SIGNED CERTIFICATES (Verified
Credentials) to guarantee the integrity and
authenticity of identity data
REVOCATION REGISTRY for managing and
updating trust over time, allowing for timely
invalidation of compromised credentials
Built based on ESTABLISHED INDUSTRY
STANDARDS to ensure broad interoperability
across diverse systems and stakeholders
SECURE BY DESIGN, employing cryptographic
verification, privacy- preserving mechanisms,
and machine- readable formats for
automated processing and compliance
By providing a trustworthy, decentralized identity infrastructure, ASCS empowers its members and partners to collaborate confidently, protect their intellectual property, and meet
regulatory requirements. Ultimately, this contributes to a
more efficient, transparent, and innovation-friendly simulation ecosystem, driving forward the future of virtual vehicle
development and certification of safe, smart, connected,
automated and sustainable mobility solutions.
